Black Aesthetics Institute is a 501 © 3 non-profit youth development and film production company.  We are committed to ‘teaching youth the beauty of how to be’ by equipping them with the necessary skills to compete both academically and socially through media arts training. 
 
Founded in 2002, we develop a strong foundation in personal growth, self-esteem and leadership qualities in our youth.  We have professional artists and expert teaching professionals on staff to lay a good foundation for academic success by facilitating the building of young people’s self-esteem and self-discipline.  By exposing young people to the study of visual and media arts, we help them develop a positive attitude toward school and post-secondary institutions.  We teach youth important job skills to help ensure their  lasting employment and to assist them with career development and job placement.  With our dynamic mix of activities, we help to foster dialogue and awareness around themes of Black culture, media arts and literature.
 
We help to foster better relationships between students, teachers, peers and parents.  We strongly encourage parent participation in program activities, to help ensure that students receive support with their personal development and to provide support to the parents.
