We aim to provide a platform for young people to gain self-respect, respect for others and self-expression through the creative visual arts, which will serve as a springboard for young people’s successful entry into, retention in, and completion of post-secondary education. Youth who have not graduated from high school face a much more difficult time obtaining employment than their more educated peers.  Our objectives include identifying and encouraging youth, including new immigrant youth to finish high school and enroll in post-secondary institutions. 

Though having a high school diploma or a college degree can facilitate gainful employment, lacking positive social skills often leads to the loss of a job. Additionally, we are committed to teaching young people the importance of positive social skills, the soft skills, to ensure prolonged employment.  Our youth must learn the soft and hard skills for long lasting personal and professional development and success!

To enhance multi-cultural awareness, understanding and tolerance, through specialized workshops, trips and special events, we develop a structured informational network and programs that will link service providers and users for greater efficiency.  Young Americans between the ages of 13 and 24 are still contracting HIV at the rate of 2 per hour.  Our programs include HIV and AIDS awareness and prevention mechanisms in order to reduce the rate of infection. 

Black Aesthetics Institute originated from my desire to address a greater need in the Black community for awareness and appreciation of our great contributions to world development.  For over six years, we have been educating and empowering young people to appreciate beauty within and without by way of the Black aesthetic and media arts training. Our goal is to continue teaching in an environment that is conducive for self-love and self-confidence.  As a result, our students experience different ways of viewing the world and themselves. 

We provide a learning experience that is nurturing.  We teach youth to realize they are not only our future leaders, rather, that as they experience and participate in the world around them, they are leaders now!
